| Product Name | Description |
| BGuard (UniPress Software) | Provides you with a way to add security to your PCs by limiting certain functionality in Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Use BGuard to prevent users from: Accessing files and local drives using browser (files can be accessed by entering file paths, tcp/ip addresses, etc. into the address entry); Entering URL's; Viewing tcp/ip addresses in the status bar; Setting the Windows wallpaper from images in browser (via right click on image); Copying text or images or saving them to files (via right click) ; Using particular menus or toolbar buttons; Changing the browser window size and position; PLUS: BGuard keeps a log of the sites visited by users and automatically clears temporary files, caches, etc. |
| Central Control (Fortres Grand) | Gives administrators the ability to remotely alter security parameters affecting the secure file system and secure registry, execute any program on any machine, as well as reboot, logoff, or shutdown any machine on a network running Fortres 101 on the client machines. This program is designed for use on one computer, preferably the administrator's computer(Server). Fortres CC offers a variety of useful tools that will help the administrator access anything on the connected computers in a convenient and easy manner. Fortres Central Control can communicate with other machines on a network using Named Pipes, TCP/IP, or any other protocol that you may be using on your networks. |
| Cooler (Fortres Grand) | Allows an administrator to change the behavior of an application by allowing the administrator to restrict menu options and window controls inside of a n application. Cooler also provides the administrator with the ability to have user specific restrictions dependent on whom logs onto the computer. Cooler consists of two different yet equally important parts. One part allows the administrator to configure the restrictions, while the other part implements the desired restrictions. |
| EGuard (WinVista) | Provides a unique solution to the problems of dealing with the unwanted features of Explorer / Internet Explorer in Windows 95/98 or Windows NT + IE4 / 5. With EGuard you can disable any menu item or toolbar button in Explorer or Internet Explorer! |
| Facade (WinVista) | A front-end menu system and desktop replacement for Windows 95 / 98 and NT. It replaces the standard Windows interface with a simple menu system more suitable for public access situations, etc. Facade is ideal for ‘special needs’ PC’s such as stores, libraries, kiosks or any other public access machine. |
| Fenris (WinVista) | Allows you to password protect access to your computer’s hard disk. Unless the correct password is entered, the hard disk will be inaccessible even if you boot from a floppy disk. Attempting to format the hard drive after booting from a floppy disk will also fail, giving you extra data protection. Fenris is more secure than using the BIOS to protect access to the hard drive. With Windows NT, Fenris fills a significant security gap, particularly with notebook computers. |
| Fortres 101 (Fortres Grand) | Innovative security agent that resides invisibly between the computer and the user. A computer sentinel, Fortres 101 monitors each action the user makes and determines if that action is legal or not. As a systems administrator for one or one thousand machines, software security is a must. Protecting not only the software and hardware applications, Fortres 101 also protects time and money by preventing damage to files and programs. You will no longer waste time re-imaging, ghosting or reinstalling software because of accidental or mischievous deletions and errors. Fortres 101 offers you the ability to restrict/block local harddrives and removable floppy disk drives as well as any local file, folder, or application. Install Fortres 101 on your Windows 95/98 and NT machines. For users of Windows 3.x, Fortres 101 v2.51d is available. |
| NetOFF (Citadel Technology) | Unattended PCs are no longer a network security risk – because inactive users are automatically logged off. Before logging any user off, NetOFF automatically saves and closes that user’s open files and applications. There’s no more orderly way to ensure LAN security. Use NetOFF’s Event Manager to define policies that trigger automatic logoff, such as a period of inactivity or a time of day. Assign these policies to individual users or groups of users, for flexibility in determining network connection privileges. |
| Norman Access Control (Norman Data Defense Systems Inc) | Has a range of functions which makes it possible to build up security to the level you require while achieving a stable user environment. The user interface is adapted to suit individual requirements and demands. The result is a rational, functional system which requires less support - thereby saving your organization costs. The Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT operating systems give the user more options for making changes to the configuration of the PC. This can result in user errors which increase the need for support. By freezing the system settings, the administrator can concentrate on the operation and development of the company’s IT systems.Laptop PC’s on which sensitive data is stored, can be a security risk if they go astray. Windows 95 offers no encryption or secure file system. The only option for securing the PC’s data is to purchase a product which offers encryption of your hard disk. |
| Norman Access Control Notebook (Norman Data Defense Systems Inc) | Norman Access Control (NAC) for Windows 95/98 in a notebook version. NAC Notebook is a "light" version of NAC 95/98. It provides access control to the PC but does not handle what the user can or cannot do once he/she is logged in. NAC Notebook may be used by persons who have PCs only used by that person, and who need to be certain that the PC's data is secure. I.e. secure if the PC is stolen, and secure if the room where the PC is placed is accessed by unautorized persons. |
| SecurePC (Citadel Technology) | Desktop protection. Control access to Start Menu and desktop shortcuts. Control Explorer
and Active Desktop settings and functions. Prohibit changes to Start Menu and desktop appearance. Control network access and settings. |

With the many new features in this product please view the additional pages on this product. |
| Talisman DS (Spyrus) | Protects all information stored on your company's computers -- and even in the event that a computer is stolen, the data on that computer will be unreadable the theives. Your trade secrets will remain fully protected at all times. Designed with the portable computer and laptop user in mind, the Talisman/DS product is an easy to use, high-assurance data protection application that, once installed, operates transparently to the user. The hard disk is encrypted at a low level, not just the file level, using a hardware token (PCMCIA card) which implements the Skipjack algorithm. |
| WinShield Network Version (Citadel Technology) | Quickly and easily define desktop privileges for all your PC users, thus preventing accidental or deliberate system changes. Control which program icons and start menu items they see, what system modifications they can make, which CD-ROMs they can use, and more. Privileges are associated with a user’s logon ID, making WinShield perfect, especially for shared PCs. This unique desktop control lets you rein in support costs, by keeping users from causing their own problems. It puts an end to the installation of unapproved or unlicensed software. It ensures that each PC is properly used. |

| Xyloc Enterprise Suite (Ensure Technologies) | Proximity authentication. The user carries or wears the Key --either the small, pager-sized KeyFob or the ID badge sized KeyCard. The Lock attaches to the PC through the keyboard, USB or serial port. The Lock and Key use an encrypted two-way radio link to identify the user to the XyLoc software on the computer. When a user approaches a XyLoc secured computer, the Key transmits a unique encrypted code to the Lock and the Lock relays the information to XMC and XSS (or XSC for the XyLoc Solo). The user's identity and authorization is validated with information in the encrypted database. If the user is authorized, the XyLoc system unlocks the keyboard and screen; if unauthorized the system remains secured. The specific unlocking action can be set to require a unique password in addition to the XyLoc Key. When the user steps away from the computer XyLoc immediately and automatically secures the PC. For maximum security, access rights can automatically vary by day of week and time of day. Available in Enterprise Suite or Solo versions. |
